A dictionary meaning of envy is a feeling of discontent and resentment aroused by and in conjunction with desire for the possessions or qualities of another. People have feelings of envy for many reasons. A new emerging form of envy is what I call Purse Envy Syndrome (PES). PES has taken on different facets for different people and taken on various meanings over the last several years. PES has been a male dominated syndrome, though few will admit to it. Men are fascinated with womens purses from the time they are boys. As boys they pull at their moms purses for attention and sometimes search through the bags searching for the goodies she has stored inside. As they get older, they do the same process with their girlfriends and then their wives. They not only are fascinated with what she carries in her bag, but often ask for her to carry their items in the bag!

Men are not the only ones with PES. Women can have it too! In fact, they get it even worse than men! Women fantasize about carrying designer label purses or ones similar to celebrities. Who wouldnt want a Kate Spade, Louis Vuitton, Brighton, Coach, Gucci, Marc Jacobs, or Dooney and Bourke? Most women arent lucky enough to be able to afford the designer labels, but lucky for us, there are very good replicas on the market. If you decide to splurge and buy an authentic designer purse, please buy it from a reputable source. Unfortunately, there are sellers that try to sell replicas as the real thing. There are many reputable sources for buying replicas as well. Replicas should not infringe on the rights on the authentic purse. They should in no way pass themselves off as the real thing.

Women comb through fashion magazines looking for what celebrities are wearing and what accessories they are wearing and carrying. Everyone wants to be able to sport the latest fashions. It seems that one of the best ways for us to do that is to watch the stars and try to mimic their style. It seems each star tries to make their own statement by wearing and carrying different designers, shapes and styles. So how do we keep pace? Again, we luck out! We dont have to keep pace. We choose the styles we like best and go with those.

Women also look to their friends and people they see at the mall or restaurants to find new trends. How many times have you seen someone with a purse and said to yourself, I wish I knew where she got that purse? Sometimes you may be brave enough to approach the woman and ask. You should not be afraid to ask someone where they got their purseits very flattering! Dont you love it when someone notices what you have on or the shoes or purse you are carrying? Most women are more than happy to tell you where they got their purse. If they wont tell you, try searching the internetyou may luck out and find it yourself!

Women fret about matching their shoes with their purse or finding the right purse to match an outfit. After all, the right purse makes the outfit complete! Rest assured, that in todays world, the purse no longer has to match the shoes! You can be wild and crazy, calm and sedate, conservative or classyits all about what makes you feel good about yourself that counts. Your purse says a lot about yourself, so use it to express the many nuances that make you YOU. Carry different purses for different occasions that allow you to show the many sides of you.

So, what is the answer to PES and how do you overcome it? There is no quick answer to this ongoing syndrome. Most men are not going to buy a purseif they did, they are afraid they would be called a sissy. The man purse is gaining popularity in Europe and Australia, but not likely to gain popularity in the US. Women will always want to look their best and have the latest fashions. PES is here to stay and most likely will grow to overwhelming proportions. My suggestion is to give in to the syndrome and go buy a purse!

With so many celebrities having babies these days, it is only natural that fashion designers are coming out with fashionable diaper bags. Designers such as Kate Spade, Burberry, DKNY, and many others have released new diaper bags as of late. These bags are as stylish as they are useful, and they are enough to make a girl want settle down and start a family.

While researching this article, I discovered that these bags come in countless shapes and patterns. They are not only being marketed to new mommies, but to their husbands too! A company called Diaper Dudes has an awesome collection of bags for sale. They are simple messenger bagtype designs, with various pockets for diapers, wipes, and baby bottles. They even come with a padded changing pad. These bags are available in a distinct camouflage pattern.

Timi and Leslie diaper bags have been photographed countless times, as of late. They have almost become as popular as the celebrities that sport them. Celebrities using these fine products include Hillary Swank, Jennifer Garner, and Faith Hill. Timi and Leslie have a number of designs available, ranging from backpackstyle to smaller purselike bags. They also come with matching diaper changing pads, and carrying cases for smaller items.

Isabella Fiore also has some brilliant designs. She has been one of my favorite designers for some time now. She has a diaper bag that would be simply perfect for summer. It has a bubblelike design printed on it, and it is very colorful and fun. It is approximately 16 inches long, 10 inches high and 6 inches deep. I love it because it is large enough to accommodate all of your baby’s necessities, but it is no bigger than the average purse. This bag has FUN written all over it!

Coach is another company that is starting to produce some wonderful products with this demographic in mind. They, however, have taken things a step further. Not only do they design and manufacture some wonderful diaper bags, they are now selling baby clothes and toys to match the diaper bags. What a brilliant and thoughtful innovation! All this talk of babies is starting to make me think about starting a family. Now if only I could meet a decent man

Makeup and Prom Dresses Blending for Beauty!

You have purchased your prom dress, shoes, jewelry, and handbag. You have decided on whether you will style your hair yourself or go to a beautician. Now you need to decide if you will do your own makeup or have it done professionally. With 2007 prom dresses, it’s all about fashion, and makeup is a part of that fashion statement that will make you shine!

If you are one that does not like to wear makeup, you will need to wear a small amount for your prom. Makeup will bring your features out and cover those unwanted blemishes.

If you have decided to do your own makeup, put on your makeup before putting on your prom dress. This is a precaution to protect your prom dress from any drops or spills that may take place while you are applying your makeup.

There are many tips for applying makeup that can bring out your natural beauty.

Foundation and Concealer

The first step in applying makeup is choosing the perfect foundation. This is done by matching the makeup with your skin tone and complexion. Always make sure the makeup is well blended and there are no foundation lines around the neck. For any visible blemishes or dark circles under the eyes, a concealer can be used. Just dab it on lightly and blend it in good with the foundation.

Eye Makeup

Once your foundation is applied, your eyes are the next important step. You do not want your eye shadow to match the color of your prom dress, but you do want it to compliment the dress. In order to highlight your eyes, you will use a lighter shade or the base color from the lash line to the brow. Use a darker shade as a contour along the upper lash line from the center toward the outer corner, then back along crease.

With an eyeliner pencil, draw a single line above upper lash line from inner to outer corner. Then, draw a line under your lower lashes from outer to inner corner.

Mascara adds the finishing touch to your eyes. Hold the brush vertically to stroke your lower lashes. Then, for your upper lashes, wiggle the brush back and forth at the base, and then sweep the brush upward.

Blush

You may want to add a little cheek color just to make people think you have a natural glow. For applying this, you can use a cheek color brush and this will make blending easier.

Lipstick

Your lips can be brought out by lining them with a pencil, then filling them in with a creamy lipstick. This will give definition and shape to your lips. Glossy lipstick can be used for that stunning look.

Powder

Finally, after all your prom makeup has been applied, dust your face with loose powder using light, downward strokes. This can be applied by using a powder brush

Body Makeup

You may want to experiment with the body makeup to highlight your prom dress. This is glitter powder or gel that can be applied to your arms and shoulders and you will look like you are under the stars

Just one tip Do not use any of your friend’s makeup (especially eye makeup). Bacteria may be in the makeup because it has been opened and used. This can cause eye infection or pink eye. If you are having your makeup done professionally, carry your own lipstick with you.

These makeup tips can also be used for other occasions in which formal dresses, homecoming gowns and Quinceanera gowns are worn. Makeup and prom dresses can blend to bring out your beauty on your special evening!

I remember, one afternoon in 2004, watching TV in my aunts sitting room in a small West Bank village. Much of the night before had been taken up speaking about the current toxic situation in the region, my family regaling me with tales of redemption, betrayal and fear. All told with a hefty serve of humour. I could tell that in some ways, peculiarly enough, there were people in other parts of the world who took their situation more seriously than themselves.

My feelings were confirmed when the next day I sat in front of the TV, flicking channels and finally settling on one of the many music stations taking the Arab world by storm. This one was called Superstar, not to be confused with the panArab Idol show of the same name, and it ran music videos and concert clips 247, SMS messages of love and flirtation scrolling constantly across the bottom of the screen in gaudy technicolour. A family friend later confirmed that they were watching Mazzika, another of these music channels, more than AlJazeera. It all seemed very bizarre to me, but I concluded that in such times of trouble, no matter how misguided it seemed, music videos, with their cheeky storylines and buffed, goodlooking and impossibly happy actors, obviously served as an antidote. Forget occupation and war Nancy Ajram had a new album out.

I guess not even a familiarity with Western MTV culture would prepare me for the pop culturesaturated Middle East I visited and slightly recoiled from. I write this as a Muslim who has grown up in Australia, but with an enduring love of my heritage. I encountered a Middle East I wasnt quite prepared for on many levels, but my understanding is layered and borne out of something entirely different to that of those women who visit the Arab world in search of tales of woe (think Geraldine Brookes Nine Parts of Desire and the more recent The Veiled Lands by Christina Hogan). And I think thats partly why I dont feel any richer for having read Muhajababes.

Meet Allegra Stratton, BBC journalist and twentysomethingyearold. She lets you know straight off the bat that shes a bit of a firecracker. Shes had an argument with her roommate about the legitimacy of the US invasion of Iraq roommate says its bad, Stratton thinks its good news. She soon realises that the war in Iraq is nothing short of a catastrophe and this somehow leads her to take some time off to explore the Middle East, no doubt in search of 10yearolds wielding AK47s. Id go there and see whether their young population in all its puppyfat enormity was taking form as the profs would like it to. I wasnt going to get into Iraq but I could go to countries near it, she tells us importantly and in what is, as I eventually realise, her humourlite style. There are funny moments, but shes not a comedian.

Strattons book of conversations is essentially that a record of her meetings with anyone who seemed her age whom she interviewed (youth being her basic criteria) during her trek through Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Dubai. What Stratton seems to have found is a bunch of pretentious, hippynostalgic luvvies, who, incidentally, are just as annoying as their Western counterparts.

To give you an idea of the flavour, consider some of the characters she covers theres Walid who wants to instigate revolution in Lebanon, despite having one of the less autocratic governments in that part of the world, and whom she describes as a lucky mixture of the best bits of some of the worlds foxier men. What Mr Potato Head would look like if he had David Bowies frame, Bob Dylans head, shoulders and slouch, and Jimi Hendrixs mania. She also meets the Jordanian Daoud, an untalented (according to Stratton) artist of nude paintings who barely scrapes by and neglects his widowed mother in pursuit of bad art. Then theres Darah, a sexually ambiguous woman who first introduces Stratton to the term muhajababe. It is Darah who, in gridlocked traffic, points out two girls who were cigarello thin and Coco Chanel chic. Both wore blacknylon bootcut hipster trousers and high heels, carried baguette handbags and wrapped around their heads were black sheer headscarves as tight as the rest of their outfits.

Finally, meet the muhajababes. Music clipinfluenced girls and the inspiration for the book, who appear to veil either because they have to or because Amr Khaled, an enormously popular preacher from Egypt, told them they should.

I think were meant to be overwhelmed and enlightened by this revelation. Yet none of this greatly surprised me, having seen countless young women on the street in Amman and even in Sydney adopt this approach for years, their bodies wrapped seductively in tight clothing, and their headscarves sitting loosely on their madeup faces, the scarf looking very much like a nuns habit without the cap. Muhajababes are everywhere, yet Stratton suggests shes discovered something extraordinary. In fact, this is one of the problems with her commentary she writes as though everything is shocking and finds a great deal taxing when it comes to fatwas and culture. She certainly doesnt seem to like Islam or Muslims very much, or perhaps its just a superior attitude of indifference with her seeming to roll her eyes impatiently every so often in response to all the silliness surrounding her.

Either way, Strattons Sesame Street approach to panArab politics and lifestyle is frustrating its all so unthinkable and peculiar to her, yet finding the Middle Easts losers or aspiring, dreamfuelled youth with a beef or two is hardly groundbreaking and I soon wondered how amazed we would be if an Arab woman went to the US and the UK and talked about all of the awful things she heard about.

Based on her conversations, Stratton zones in on two main figures Amr Khaled, who she paints as little more than a puffedup and ridiculous evangelical figure of influence for the starved masses who follow him, lemminglike, as he spreads the word. The other is wealthy Saudi Prince AlWaleed bin Talal, who runs these 247 music channels through his Rotana satellite stations.

The two are in stark contrast with each other, yet their respective influences connect. Khaled leads the reformation of Islam with personal trendy piety, or what Egypts Muslim Brotherhood (Al Ikhwan) once called, Stratton notes, airconditioned Islam, leading girls to hijab before theyre ready AlWaleed tells them what they should aspire to with his music clips. The result are muhajababes, girls who weakly attempt to reconcile the contradictory.

I took an obscene amount of notes as I read, yet none of it seems greatly significant now. Sufficed to say, both Khaled and AlWaleed exert great amounts of influence and are making changes in their own successdriven ways.

Muhajababes essentially proves that greed and stupidity are alive and well in the Middle East, and excels in demonstrating the obvious there are troubled areas, social misfits, a severe lack of freedom in general and a crucial diversity in attitudes, religiosity and culture. The Middle East is a melting pot of random things, and it is, not surprisingly, increasingly influenced by the West, Stratton observing that capitalists and major companies recognise the surge in palatable, Khaledstyle piety and are using it for their own gain, Westernstyle.

Take, for example, Sami Yusuf, the outrageously popular seminasheed singer whose video clips grace TV screens inbetween Ajram and Amr Diab and who even promoted Coca Cola when he released his first album. He falls squarely into the Khaledism slot a sexedup religious approach. There are certainly interesting anecdotes and snippets of worthy commentary, but overall, it is a disappointing trip into the ordinary.

Meanwhile, Stratton doesnt inject much of her own personality into the book, except to deliver cynical and, at times, snotty observations, all told in her oftcaustic style of overflowing prose. While refreshingly honest in her obnoxiousness, I couldnt help but feel that, while greatly amused by the simpletons she met, Stratton not only seemed bored and unimpressed but was also perhaps questioning why she was even there.

She confesses, at one point, to being bored by the subject of hijab, saying she wanted to find something a bit more fun. And thats the crux of it, because I am not convinced that this book, for all its magnanimous observations and research, is actually important. Rather, it seems little more than a young womans project to cash in on the Arab phenomenon hers is a search for the obscure and tryhardish in the Arab world, and the result is a catalogue of the disheartened, disenfranchised youth who, not very uniquely, have social problems to deal with.

The main difference with the Western worlds social problems being, obviously, a lack of democracy in the background. (And after reading some of the contentions contained within this book, one could truly think democracy is a cure for the worlds ills). As Stratton comments at one point, when she has become weary, she thought asking people about democracy in the Arab world was like talking about the weather, both because discussion of it was all around you, and because no one had any say in determining it.

I envision how this book will be sold. An intriguing and eyeopening insight into the Middle East, with Stratton cast as a hip, daring Westerner ready to smash through the stereotypes with every click of her keyboard. Yet, it is Stratton herself who casts people, hoping to find an A, B, C of culture clash and establishment rebellion. The more interesting conversations never occur, and she herself confesses that the book she wrote is not the one she initially set out to capture. I cant help but feel that there could have been much worthier tales to share and more deeply hidden experiences to uncover.

She ignores, for example, devout Muslims, depriving the book of any balance, focusing instead on selfhaters with delusions of grandeur and a gripe or three. Its all so hammy that even Stratton observes her struggle to not cringe when listening to one particular girls tale. These people offer their insight into why life is as it is for others, but more than anything they just complain and censure (for example, the girls not wearing hijab are quick to refer to muhajababes as the sluttiest girls around).

She does confirm that the Middle East has its own share of affected lattesippers to contend with. But admittedly, the sippers may actually have something to truly fight for because as Stratton takes 280 pages to inform you, the Middle East is a hotbed of change and revolution right now. Its just a shame you dont close the book and want to go there yourself.

Of course, youll need to pack the right kind of clothes for the climate youre visiting, but when it comes to travel accessories, you want to take some essential items, without packing too much. A travel accessory store is a good place to get ideas for items you can bring on a trip.

Here are four travel accessories that youll want to take on your trip

Passport Holder in todays cautious environment, everyone needs to have a passport, even children. Youll want to keep your passport in something that will give you easy access to it, so you dont have to go fishing around for it in your pockets or handbag.

Money BeltFanny Pack when it comes to your money, you dont want to take any chances that thieves will be able to easily steal from you on the road. Pickpockets and purse snatchers are always on the lookout for unwary travelers. A money belt or fanny pack keeps your money close to your body where it would be hard for somebody to quickly open and steal from you without your noticing.

A money belt is thin and has secure pockets. Money belts can be worn over or underneath clothing. They usually are not waterproof so you may want to put your cash in a plastic baggie to keep it from getting wet.

Fanny packs are bulkier and usually made out of leather or nylon. These are great to carry instead of a purse or wallet. Its best to have the pockets facing the front of your body, or wear it on the side of your hip, where you can clearly see it at all times.

Travel First Aid Kit nobody likes to think about it, but bumps, bruises and more can happen when youre traveling. Because you are away from home and may not know the system of medical care of the citycountry youre traveling to, you should always carry a first aid kit with you.

Keep your first aid kit in your personal travel accessory bag so youll have easy access to it, if necessary. The kit should have bandages, gauze, cotton swabs, mild pain relief medication, antiseptic, scissors, insect repellent, etc. Some kits contain a lot more. Its cheaper to buy a kit than to purchase first aid items individually.

Also, if you have any kind of medical condition, make sure you take along enough medication and supplies to last the entire trip.

Travel Alarm Clock youve got important things to do on your trip and you dont want to have to rely on a wake up call from the hotel front desk what if they forget?

The best way to usher in a new fashion season is with clothes and accessories that are feminine, modern and extremely wearable.

This season, fashion differs dramatically from years past. For a start, the palette is softer.

“The colors are more muted with very natural embellishments,” said Laura McDowell, T.J. Maxx fashion spokesperson.

White is clearly a favorite, with neutrals a close second. When mixed with color, the look is softer and very contemporary. Try navy with white (for the everpopular nautical look), yellow, chocolate brown and oatmeal as complementary color tones. Graphic black and white combos look surprisingly fresh.

Perhaps the biggest options are spring’s array of pantsthey run the gamut from cropped, wide gauchos to Bermuda shortsskimmers. Also look for slender capris, long, slouchy trousers and highwaisted sailor pants. Feminine blouses are the ideal accompaniment Choose a billowing, Victorianstyle ruffled blouse, or the classic, alwaysinstyle button down. The little black dress has been replaced by “the little white dress,” with light, feminine detailing. Jackets are back. Look for cropped, fitted jackets, as well as militaryinspired styles very tailored with high necks. Today’s skirts are longer and feminine tulip shapes, bubble skirts and multitiered versions.

There’s no need to carry a tote or even a briefcase this season. Handbags are big enough to hold just about anything. Look for crossbody handles and extralarge satchels.

“Oversized is definitely in, but do consider your body shape and size,” advises McDowell.

Belts are also getting wider. Shoes are chunky with high heels, platform, espadrilles, peep toes and wedges. Vibrant turquoise, coral and amber jewelry add a healthy dose of color multistrand necklacesthe longer the betterare bold yet sophisticated. Five easy ways to update your wardrobe are

1. Something, anything white

2. A soft romantic skirt

3. At least one pair of cropped pants gauchos, capris or skimmers

4. A nautical accent striped shirt, macrame belt or wedge espadrilles

5. A great big handbag in supple Italian leather or summery straw

Are you new to private label rights, Internet Marketing or are you unsure of what to do, or where and how to begin with any of wide options available? Youve probably heard of Internet Marketers making lots of money online, but you dont have the talent to write and create information products or make crafts. Youre not a programmer so you dont know how to develop killer application software.

You cant get into wholesale and reselling designer shoes, handbags and other fashion items because you dont have a whole lot of money to invest. Believe it or not, youre perfect for affiliate marketing!

You can make money of off other peoples products or services by becoming an affiliate marketer. You may not have your own product or service, but there are others out there who do exceptionally well and theyre willing to give you commissions in exchange for promoting their materials. Many companies and small business owners use affiliate marketing to sell their products for them. They provide graphics and text advertisements that affiliates can use for promoting their products or services.

You can also get private label rights and PLR content. These are the simplest and fastest way to stamp your name and market information without being an actual writer or a published author! The services are all over the Internet, but caution with the high fees.

Going back to the affiliate option, as an affiliate, you will have your own unique code or link that serves to identify you as the affiliate who made the sale of a specific affiliate marketing product.

Most affiliates today are called publishers because many of them have their own sites or blogs where they are promoting other peoples products. As a publisher, you can choose from the thousands of affiliate programs available and you can even devote an entire site or blog towards preselling specific products. When someone who visits your site or blog clicks on your affiliate link and buys from the merchant youre an affiliate with a new commission. You get paid your commissions based on the terms set by the merchant.

How much money youll make as an affiliate depends on the commissions offered by the different merchants. For instance, someone selling a 50 ebook may offer 75 commission for every sale. Diamond merchants generally offer between 8 and 12 commission on the sale price, so you can make a handsome amount on a 5,000 diamond ring or a 10,000 bracelet.

Then there are merchants such as mortgage brokers and credit card companies that will pay you a fixed sum for referring qualified contacts or leads. There are also companies that offer continuing commissions if customers purchase membership with recurring billing (and remain a member) from your affiliate link.

Some affiliate programs have unusual terms and conditions. For instance, there are merchants who are willing to pay commissions of up to 200 of the sale price of the product. There are others that offer tiered commission structures wherein you also make a commission from sales brought in by a person who signs up as an affiliate via your affiliate link. Some companies offer tiers that are four or five levels deep.

In resume, start as an affiliate marketer advertising other people products or go the simplest and easy way with your own pen name by using private label rights and PLR content if you dont have that mile budget, upload the site to the Internet and your kiss your competition goodbye by being persistent and constantly searching for more traffic opportunities!
